Rodney D. Felder

Born in Huntington, WV in 1963, Rodney Felder graduated from Mid-America Christian Academy and entered the United States Army in July,1981. Over the next three decades he would participate in several armed conflicts. In 1991, he deployed to Kuwait and ultimately into Iraq, in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm (the Gulf War). In 1994, he would return to Kuwait as part of a Task Force to stabilize the region against hostile regimes with hostile intentions against the US Allies. Between 2003 and 2008, he would deploy three additional times to Iraq and Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), where he received the Bronze Star on two occasions. After almost 30 years, he retired from the United States Army, as a Command Sergeant Major in 2010, the highest enlisted rank in the military. Noteworthy assignments/accomplishments include serving as a Vice-Presidential Communications Officer with the White House Communications Agency (political side), Garrison Sergeant Major, Rock Island Arsenal (industrial side), multiple tours in Iraq, Operation’s Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, (combat side). In 2016, he was voted to the 100 Black American Military Leaders List. Mr. Felder went on to a successful career as a civilian working for the Department of Defense before retiring in 2020. Since retiring, Mr. Felder received his commission as a Notary Public and formed the Felder Notary Services, LLC, specializing in Automotive Evaluations, Repo Yard Inspections, Signing Agent (Financial), and Proof of Identity cases. Mr. Felder has an undergraduate degree in Advanced Leadership and a graduate degree in Strategic Leadership. Mr. Felder returned to Huntington in 2021.
