Teresa Crisp

Teresa Crisp is a lifelong resident of Huntington who graduated from Huntington High School and attended West Virginia State University. She then returned to Huntington to complete her master’s degree in Art at Marshall University.

She is a professional artist who paints, creates ceramics and sculpts. In 2021, she created a bust of former Marshall University President Jerome Gilbert that was commissioned by the Fairfield Community Recognition Committee.

Crisp mentors both youth and adults in art. She uses her talent to promote art, science and math by “utilizing and creating with the bare minimum available.”

She is a member of the Mary F. Handy Missionary Society and the Women’s Missionary Society of the Young Chapel African Methodist Church. She also is a member of the Huntington Chapter of LINKS Inc. and is a member of the alumni associations for both West Virginia State and Marshall universities.
