Sherrone Hornbuckle

Sherrone Hormbuckle-Myers is a lifelong resident of Huntington.  After graduating from Huntington High School, she attended the University of Richmond and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Leadership Studies.  She received her Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2009.

Sherrone began her career as a law clerk for Attorney William L. Redd.  For several years, she worked in civil law for Legal Aid of West Virginia, serving some of West Virginia’s most vulnerable populations, working with domestic violence victims and veterans.  As the first Black Female Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Sherrone handled domestic violence cases and juveniles.  Currently, she serves as the first, in-house, General Legal Counsel for Cabell County Schools where she continues to foster her passion with the county’s youth.

Her focus on advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic violence continues through her work with the Branches Domestic Violence Shelter.  She positively impacts her community and its members by serving on the Board of Directors for Valley Health and the Education Alliance.  She is also a member of the Living Sanctuary Church where Bishop Gary L. Edwards is pastor.
